CFTO-TV signed on on December 31, 1960, and one year later, it joined the CTV Television Network as its flagship alongside CHAN-TV in Vancouver.

In 1997, Baton Broadcasting, CFTO's then-parent company, acquired control of the CTV network. In 1998, with a rebranding of CTV News, the CTV logo is added to the station's name.
2005–2018
Many CTV stations began to adopt the main CTV logo as their station branding between 2002 and 2005.
