In 1996, CKCO Television left BBS, as its programming was available via nearby stations, such as CFTO Toronto, CFPL London, and CKNX Wingham. CKCO still carried the CTV network programming, but no longer used the BBS branding, and reverted to using its older, 1980s/early-1990s logo. This would be rendered moot when BBS bought out the remainder of the CTV network in January 1998, becoming the new CTV network.
