CTV2 originated as NewNet in 1995. NewNet did not have a standalone logo; the logo shown above, belonging to CKVR-TV, is an example of the branding used by NewNet's stations between 1995 and 2005.

On August 11, 2008, A-Channel dropped the "Channel" from its name and was re-branded once again as simply A.
