In March 1969, Consumer Value Stores rebranded to CVS, though it would keep the "Consumer Value Stores" name as a subtitle beneath its logo until 1984.
CVS shut down its non-pharmacy operations by 1996, although a few of its stores are still running (including some downtown tourist-areas and at the Cambridgeside Galleria in Massachusetts).
