2007–2013[]
This icon was introduced with iPhone OS 1 and used up to the final version of iOS 6. It matches the skeuomorphic design of iOS at the time. The calendar matches the day of the week on your phone. It had a red bar on the top and the day of the week text is on the red bar while the date number is in the white part.
2013–present[]
This icon is used in the Settings app, since iOS 7. It shows no date as the Settings app cannot always sync the date daily.
2013–2015[]
This icon was created to match the new flat design in iOS 7. It was introduced in iOS 7 and used up to the final version of iOS 8. The red bar got removed, the texts got thinner and the day of the week text is red.
2015–2017[]
This icon was introduced in iOS 9 and used up to the final version of iOS 10. The only change to this icon was the font on the day-of-the-week text.
2017–2020[]
This icon was introduced in iOS 11 and used up to the final version of iOS 13. The text was made bold to match the new design language of iOS 11.
2020–present[]
This icon was introduced in iOS 14 and is still being used in the present. The day of the week is now capitalized and only uses the abbreviations of the respective days.
