In 1983, the emblem logo was introduced. It was the same as the bidding logo, but added in the Olympic rings and a wordmark.

Also during 1983, the mascots were introduced. They were named Hidy and Howdy, a duo of anthropomorphic polar bears that wear western/cowboy outfits. After the Games, the mascots were kept a special part of the towns' history until 2008.
