After the 1979-80 season, the team relocated to Calgary to become the Calgary Flames. A variant of this logo is also used for the Adirondack Flames, and was revived from 1997 to 2020 as an alternate captain's patch.

The "A" became a "C" upon the relocation. This is the only logo they have used as the Calgary Flames, undergoing one minor change since.

The only change is the black border added around the logo.

On October 5th, 2020, the Calgary Flames announced that they will be going back to their 1980s look for the 2020-21 NHL season; the uniforms are the same as the 1980s-era style albeit in a modern template.
