After TV Globo terminated its contract due to struggles with the COVID-19 pandemic, SBT broadcast the second leg of the 2020 final (the first leg was streamed exclusively on Fluminense's official YouTube channel) and RecordTV purchased the broadcast rights for the 2021-23 seasons.
2025-present[]
Globo resumed the broadcasting rights for the Campeonato Carioca from 2025 - but still sharing the rights with Band, official broadcaster since 2023 - after an agreement with Brax, the company in charge of sublicensing, and with FERJ, the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation and organizer of the competition. The contract is multiplatform, allowing the broadcaster to broadcast the games on free-to-air (TV Globo), pay-TV (SporTV) and pay-per-view (Premiere).
