In 1973, the sales department saw the need for a mascot as a vital marketing factor. A doll with the appearance of a painter elf was designed, which was baptized by popular vote as "Albertico", in memory of the famous and multifaceted YSKL announcer Guillermo "Albertico" Hernández. This character was abandoned three years later, for not having achieved its marketing purpose, although the audience did adopt it as the channel's identifier, although they confused his name with that of the cartoons and called him "Colorix", this is because this character appears the logo when the channel commenced transmission in color.
