On January 17, 1957, Channel 6 began, then a private channel owned by Salvadora Debayle de Somoza and Lilliam Somoza of Seville, wife and daughter of former president Anastasio Somoza respectively.

Operations resumed in September 2011 with aid from the Nicaraguan president, Daniel Ortega. The current owner of the channel is a privately-owned government-linked company, Negocios Publicitarios Internacionales SA (NEPISA).
The logo is a square with turquoise circular tips divided into 2 pieces, one lighter than the other, creating a lighting effect, in the center of the square there is a light blue border and also divided into 2 pieces, and there is also the channel's 1979 logo, slightly modified and white, with all this, 2 glow effects are superimposed on them, one is located in the left corner of the square, but with a lighting strength so low that At first glance it cannot be seen, while the other can be found in the center of the circle of the number 6 logo, the icon itself is a representation of the colors of the flag of Nicaragua (country where the channel) which are blue and white.
And finally the word "channel" in the font "ITC Avant Garde Gothic Std Bold" in white with a small gray outline at the bottom of the logo.

This new version includes the modified channel icon, the word "canal" in the font "ITC Avant Garde Gothic Std Book" in turquoise and located towards the top of the logo, in addition to adding the channel's slogan "Nicaragüense por Gracia de Dios " in the font "ITC Avant Garde Gothic Std Demi". Unfortunately, this logo would last for a short time until August 1 of that same year, being replaced by the following logo.
