Canal 9 TV El Sol was a Peruvian television channel and the second commercial channel in the country founded in 1959 and ended in 1971 to avoid being confiscated by the Velasco regime. The channel 9 continued as a repeater for TV Perú until 1981 when the signal was acquired by Andina de Radiodifusión S.A.C. to launch ATV two years later.

1959–1960

The first logo of this channel was a 3D wall with the letters "CANAL" and "TV" stacked and to the left, in that same position a giant "9" appears and on the right, the word "EL SOL".

1960–1971

In 1960, the channel released its new image, which closely resembles the CBS logo, but with the hood touching the eyelids and a 9 above it. In 1971, the channel closed its transmissions to avoid being confiscated by the military regime, however it continued as a repeater of channel 7 in Lima until 1981, when ATV bought the channel, and began its transmissions two years later.
