Canal 9 TV El Sol was a Peruvian television channel and the second commercial channel in the country founded in 1959 and ended in 1971 to avoid being confiscated by the Velasco regime. Channel 9 continued as a repeater for TV Perú until 1981 when the signal was acquired by Andina de Radiodifusión S.A.C. to launch ATV two years later.

1959–1960[]

Canal 9 TV El Sol's first logo was a 3D wall with the letters "CANAL" and "TV" stacked and to the left, in that same position a giant "9" appears and on the right, the word "EL SOL".

1960–1971[]

In 1960, the channel released their new logo. which closely resembles the CBS logo, but with the hood touching the eyelids and a 9 above it. In 1971, the channel closed its transmissions to avoid being confiscated by the military regime, however it continued as a repeater of channel 7 in Lima until 1981, when ATV bought the channel, and began their transmissions two years later.
