Canal Digitaal was launched in 1996 as MultiChoice, a subsidiary of the South African conglomerate Naspers.
Canal Digitaal Satelliet[]
1996–2008[]
In September 1996, Canal+ Group acquired MultiChoice Netherlands, along with the film channel FilmNet from Naspers and the television service was renamed to Canal Digitaal Satelliet.
Canal Digitaal[]
2008–2017[]
This logo debuted in 2008, as it began to disassociate the company with Canal+ Group (the French company which divested its shares in 2004). Since 2009, Canal Digitaal became a part of the Luxembourg-based satellite television company M7 Group.
2017–present[]
Following M7 Group's rebrand in 2017, Canal Digitaal unveiled a new common logo that has shared with other M7 subsidiaries. As of September 2019, the ownership of Canal Digitaal returned to Canal+ Group since M7 was acquired the same year.
