Canal Digital AS (Telenor AS and Canal+ SA)
1997-2003
Canal Digital was created by joint venture between Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor and French Canal+ in 1997 to compete against Viasat. This allowed as well for Canal Digital AS to use Canal+ name and branding in the Nordic/Scandinavia.

In October 2018 after Canal Digital Kabel AS fused together with it's own parent company Telenor ASA and became Telenor T-We, Canal Digital Satellitt AS changed it name back to Canal Digital AS since it was no point to have the satellite word in the company name since it was only one Canal Digital company now.
