In expansion in that moment, Ultralar opened one of the first hypermarkets in Brazil, located at Pinheiros, São Paulo City.

One year after inauguration, Ultracenter was sold by Carrefour, which was already studying ways to enter the Brazilian market and saw an opportunity, acquiring the establishment.
