On December 23, 2015, Turner sold its Russian assets, including Boomerang to Media Alliance, a company jointly owned by National Media Group and Discovery, Inc. (formerly Discovery Communications)

On March 9th, 2022, in response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, WarnerMedia halted its activities in Russia, which included the shutdown of the Russian version of Boomerang and Cartoon Network. [1]
