In 15 September 2009, Boomerang was an evening block on Cartoon Network. On 30 September 2010, it was launched as a channel on Viasat's satellite platform. The channel launched on 1 April 2011 from the Canal Digital platform. Boomerang had previously been offered as a programming block on Cartoon Network.

2015–2023[]

On 19 January 2015, Boomerang Nordic applied the 2014-15 rebrand.

2023–present[]

On September 4, 2023, Boomerang in the Nordics was renamed to Cartoonito.
