Paraná is home to some of the top Brazilian soccer teams, such as the Club Athletico Paranaense (2018 South American Cup champion, Brazilian champion of 2001 and 1995 Serie B champion), Coritiba Foot Ball Club (Brazilian champion of 1985 and Brazilian champion of Serie B in 2007 and 2010) and Paraná Clube (Brazilian champion of Series B in 1992 and 2000).

The Paranaense Football Championship is organized by the Federation of Paranaense of Soccer and carried out uninterruptedly since 1915, being one of the oldest soccer tournaments organized in Brazil.
