Channel [V] Korea was launched in South Korea on 18 June 2001. Previously, a pan-Asian version of Channel [V] (broadcast from Hong Kong) was made available to the South Korean viewers on the STAR TV Network's northern beam via the AsiaSat 1 satellite on 27 May 1994. But on 31 December 2008 (New Year's Eve), the channel ceased its operation and it was replaced by the network's pan-Asian feed.
