The Charlotte MLS team (now known as Charlotte FC) was supposed to reveal their name and look on June 2020, but due to COVID-19, they pushed the reveal to July 22, 2020.

Originally slated to begin play in 2021, Charlotte pushed their inaugural season to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
