Charmin was first manufactured at the Hoberg Paper Company in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

P&G acquired Charmin in 1957. Over the next few years, the packaging and logo was redesigned repeatedly. Each time, Charmin would be re-introduced as "new".

In 2003, Charmin retired the baby logo after 43 years. The bear mascots who have appeared in their commercials debuted around the same time. In 2010, Charmin in Europe was renamed Cushelle.
