Some locations still use this logo (including its very first one in Denver, CO), though most existing ones opened prior to 2009 were updated to the current one below during the late 2010s.
In April 2008, Chipotle Mexican Grill began deviating away from its original logo with this transitional logo, utilizing a Starbucks-esque design carrying over the chili pepper icon from a variant of the previous logo and encircling it with the full name, now completely rendered in Bank Gothic (similar to the variant from the previous logo, too). This was however, short-lived as in early 2009, this logo was scrapped in favor of a modernized interpretation of it, plus a completely new logo to go along with.
