The South Carolina C&S adopted the Georgia banks' 1969 logo in 1987. To avoid a hostile takeover from NCNB, C&S’ parent company acquired Sovran Bank in 1990, becoming C&S/Sovran. This company would inevitably be purchased by NCNB in 1991, forming NationsBank.
