In the ealry 1960s, The City of Richardson adopted this logo, with the slogan "A Growing City with a Planned Future" (some city publications also said "A Planned City with a Growing Future"). The logo presented a wise man looking to the future, along with important attributes of Richardson: "'The Electronics City of the World' - A City of Fine Churches, Schools, Homes and Industry"

196?–197?[]

In the late 1960s, the "Planned City" logo was updated, keeping the four components, but removing the school in order to separate electronics and industry. The wise man was also removed, and city slogan was replaced with "City of Richardson".

197?–199?[]

The "Arrow R" logo was introduced in 1972, originally by the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. It was used by the City two years later, as part of Richardson's centennial celebration. It became the city's primary logo around the same time, and retained the word font from the previous "Planned City" logo.

199?–2018[]

In the early 1990s, the "Paintbrush R" logo was introduced as the primary city logo, with the "Arrow R" logo still present, but relegated to more of a secondary logo.

2018–present[]

Introduced at the State of the City event in January 2018, the primary logo was updated. The "Paintbrush R" has been streamlined, and the "Arrow R" has been retired.
