Chilesat was created after the split of Telex-Chile, forming Chilexpress and this company. In 1996, was acquired by AT&T International.
2002–2004[]
Telmex[]
2004–2010[]
In 2004, Grupo Carso acquired all the Latin American assets of AT&T International, including Chilesat. As such, the company was renamed to Telmex.
Claro[]
2010–present[]

In 2010, América Móvil and Telmex (both controlled by Grupo Carso) began a process of unification in Latin America. In Chile, this resulted in Telmex becoming Claro, using the brand which was first introduced in the country for the mobile company in 2006.
In September 2021, América Móvil and Liberty Latin America announced a joint-venture, with Claro providing mobile and landline telephone services, while VTR will provide broadband and cable TV. This joint-venture will be its own separate entity, with both companies sharing 50% of the property [1].
