In July 2022, América Móvil sold Claro Panamá to Cable & Wireless Panama (co-owned by the Panamanian State and Liberty Latin America) for $200 million USD, in order to merge with its former Rival +Móvil (C&WP) Panama's major mobile provider, completing that merger on March 2023.
