This icon was used for the iPhone and iPod Touch in iOS 4 and iOS 5. All app icons were updated in iOS 4 for Retina Displays.

2012–2013 (iPhone and iPod touch)[]

SVG NEEDED

The icon was only used for the iPhone and iPod Touch in iOS 6. The minute and hour hands were rounded.

2012–2013 (iPad)[]

The icon was only used for the iPad in iOS 6, using the Swiss Railway Clock design.

2013–2014[]

This icon was used only in iOS 7. The new clock icon acts as a real clock based the time of the device, and is now consistent across all iOS devices.

2014[]

In iOS 8.0, the minute and hour hands were bolder and longer.

2014–2015[]

In iOS 8.3, the minute and hour hands were made thinner.

2015–2016[]

This icon was used only in iOS 9. The font was changed from Helvetica Neue to San Francisco.

2016–2017[]

This icon was used only in iOS 10. The second hand was made orange instead of red.

2017–2018[]

This icon was used only in iOS 11.

2018–2020[]

In iOS 12, the second hand became a darker shade of orange and the minute and hour hands were made bolder.

2020–2024[]

In iOS 14, the hands were made bolder with a thinner part near the center, a design also used in the new clock widget.

2024–2025[]

A gradient was added to the icon in iOS 18.

2025–present[]

The icon was redesigned in iOS 26, with the clock filling the entire app icon shape, as well as simplified numbering (leaving only the 3, 6, 9, and 12) and the font being changed to SF Pro Rounded.
