Club RTL was a cancelled digital TV bouquet in Germany led by Bertelsmann's UFA and CLT (now RTL Group). It was slated to launch in 1996, but was later abandoned and cancelled due to uncertainties surrounding technical standards, the high costs of broadcasting rights and fears over competing with Leo Kirch's newly-launched DF1 service (now known as Sky).[1][2]
Prior to the cancellation, RTL had designed and proposed a promotional video and was displayed at CeBIT '96, but after that, nothing was materialized and was later cancelled.[3]
