Concord was announced at the PlayStation Showcase on May 24, 2023. An early access beta was launched exclusive for PlayStation Plus members on July 12, 2024, followed by the open beta the following week. The game was released on August 23, 2024.

On September 3, 2024, eleven days after the game's launch, PlayStation and Firewalk Studios announced plans to take Concord offline, phasing out all retail and digital sales and providing the option to refund for all PlayStation 5 and PC players who had previously bought the game. The servers went offline on September 6, 2024.

On October 29, 2024, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that Concord would be permanently discontinued and that its developer, Firewalk Studios, would be closed down.
