In 1968, CCA was purchased by Montgomery Ward, creating a new holding company called Marcor, Inc., which itself was purchased by Mobil for $1.8 billion in 1976. In 1986, Mobil divested CCA to the Jefferson Smurfit Corporation, therefore dissolving Marcor and leaving Montgomery Ward as their only remaining subsidiary from the 1976 deal.
