In 2000, CPB unveiled a new logo consisting of a square with the company's name on it. the ascender of the "b" and the descender of the "p" touch the top and bottom edges of the square respectively. the logo was often shown as blue.

On July 24, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the Rescissions Act of 2025 into law, which terminated the CPB's funding from Congress after nearly 60 years. Later on August 1, the CPB announced their intention to cease operations due to a lack of funding.

The majority of CPB's staff was laid off on September 30 (the end of the fiscal year). However, a small transition team, will remain present until January 2026 to manage the closeout, including compliance, final distributions, and addressing financial obligations like music rights and royalties.
