D&D Beyond was launched on August 15, 2017 for the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons through a partnership between Curse, Inc. and Wizards of the Coast. On December 12, 2018, all of Curse's media assets, including D&D Beyond, were acquired by Fandom. On April 13, 2022, Hasbro announced it would be acquiring D&D Beyond, and on May 18 of that same year, D&D Beyond was officially transferred over to Wizards of the Coast, a division of Hasbro.
