D.M., initially as Dima was a Portuguese racing automobile brand. Its name was the union of the two first letter of the first and last name of this brand's founder, Dionísio Mateus.

Months after the first car being produced, the name "Dima" were usualy confunsed with Panhard Dyna. In order to stop this mistake, Dima was rebanded to "D.M.", now as an acronym of the founders' name.
