DD Free Dish is the only direct-to-home satellite television platform in India that is absolutely free of cost. It is run by Doordarshan, the country’s public TV broadcaster. It has its maximum viewership in rural areas. It was launched as DD Direct+ in 2004 and renamed to DD Free Dish in 2014.
