BETTER LOGO NEEDED |
DD Malayalam changed its logo on 19 November 2021, with the name of the channel (DD Malayalam) in the Malayalam script and the name of the corresponding state (Kerala) in English.
This change was originally done by the Kannada channel DD Chandana on 1 November 2021, and implemented by the other South Indian DD channels (DD Saptagiri, DD Yadagiri, DD Podhigai and DD Malayalam) from 16 to 19 November. Moreover, all these channels moved their logos from the traditional top right corner of the screen to the bottom right corner.
Footnote[]
- In 1994, Doordarshan launched a number of channels in Indian regional languages. They were originally numbered from 1 through 18[1]; they were renamed in 2000. (Most were renamed to the corresponding language; in the case of DD Podhigai, DD Saptagiri, DD Sahyadri and DD Girnar, they were named after hill ranges in the state where the language is spoken, while DD Chandana was named after sandalwood, a major produce of the state of Karnataka.)
