DD National, often colloquially known by its former name DD1, is the flagship channel of Indian public TV broadcaster Doordarshan and the first TV channel to be launched in the country in 1959.

In 1995, all the numbered channels (DD1, DD2, etc.) were renamed so that they contained a name. Hence, DD1 became DD National.

HD: 2017–present

DD National HD was launched on 1 April 2017. It is not available on major satellite platforms, but on terrestrial DTT and some cable platforms.
