DD News, known as DD Metro (a generalist channel) until 2003, is a bilingual (English and Hindi) public news channel run by Doordarshan. Parliamentary channels Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV also show current affairs programmes in English and Hindi, effectively making them secondary news channels.
