GMA start it's station in Zamboanga as DXVC under the owner of Republic Broadcasting System on channel 7.

Later it renamed it's callsign to DXZM. The station went off the air in 1976 on Channel 7. As a result, it migrated to channel 3 while NMPC took the channel 7 and became Government Television. The callsign reverted to DXVC.

DXMJ[]

In 1977, the station went off the air again due to the transmitter and facilities being transferred following the acquisition done by RT Broadcasting Specialist. A few weeks later, the callsign renamed to DXMJ after it's acquisition and return on the air. The callsign DXMJ is from Baguio until 1977 when the NTC rule commenced and renamed to DWMJ.

DXLL-TV[]

Later DXMJ renamed it's callsign again to DXLL-TV. The DXMJ callsign now revived this time on Davao in 1994.

1992–1995[]

On January 1, 1995, after signing off 30 minutes after midnight on New Year’s Day, ABS-CBN acquired rival station DXLL-TV Channel 3 from RT Broadcasting. As part of the deal, network affiliations were swapped: ABS-CBN became an owned-and-operated station, while FUBC Channel 9 took on the GMA affiliation DXLA-TV. A year later, GMA officially assumed control of the Channel 9 frequency. Since then, GMA Zamboanga has operated as a relay station of flagship DZBB-TV Channel 7 in Metro Manila, with limited local advertising.
