Coldeahorro was founded by Banco de Bogotá, Seguros Bolívar, Colseguros and other banks and construction companies, being one of the first savings and housing corporations to be created.

In 1997, Davivienda became a bank, however, it maintained the Little Red House symbol.
In 2006, Davivienda redesigned its logo after merging with BanSuperior. Furthermore, in later years it expanded to El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama. Like Colsubsidio, the logo was designed by TXT Agencia Transmedia.[2] Davivienda arrived in Miami in 2013.
