In 1978, Atomic Mass changed its band name to Deaf Leopard, which later respelled to Def Leppard to distinguish themselves from contemporary British punk bands of that time, and launched its first EP called The Def Leppard E.P. (1978).

This logo was only used in its first single, Wasted. Later singles from On Through The Night (1980) used the later logo.

Used on their first album, On Through The Night (1980). It was later used as a secondary logo in High 'n' Dry (1981) and Pyromania (1983) until it was replaced by a updated triangular logo variant based on their current logo in 1987.

This is their most recognizable logo. The logo was simplified from its previous one by ditching the triangle device and removing the double stroke line in the letter F. It was first introduced with High 'n' Dry (1981). Different variations of their logo were introduced including the triangle logo that replaced the 1980-1981 logo.

1996–1999[]

1995 def leppard

This logo was only used on their album Slang (1996) but it was short lived and it was only used in Slang album. Other usage including its singles and other promotional items of that album were mostly used the 1995 Vault era logo.
