It was used as one of several logos for the website's first version, but ended up being the main basis for the future logos. Despite not being used as a main logo after 2000, it would still be used for the Deviousness Award up until 2008.

In early 2001, a contest would be held to create a design for deviantart's icon. It would be won by digitaldecay, resulting it being used in future logos, including this one. It was claimed to be the first logo in the removed timeline section of the website. This logo was used with the site's Version 2. This is also the first logo to contain Fella, deviantart's mascot. Similar to the icon, they also originated from a contest.

DeviantArt Logo
Designer:  Moving Brands
Typography:  Calibre (logo, modified)
Launched:  December 4, 2014

deviantART changed its name to DeviantArt, and launched a new logo designed by Moving Brands in December 2014. This logo dropped the 13-year-old 'da' monogram for a newer and more abstract approach. The logo is in a shade of green called "DeviantArt Green" (#05CC47). The wordmark is an altered version of Klim Type Foundry's Calibre (not to be confused with Calibri), where characters can be partially cut-off at or line up with 62°, the same angle in which the symbol leans. This is still used on some parts of the website.

“This is who we are at our essence. When I say “we,” I mean you, too. We are not a company or a brand or a website—we are a community united in our love and support of art and artists. Our new look is not designed to compete or keep up with other companies, brands or websites—it’s designed to tell our story and showcase our art and artists in the best possible way. We are DeviantArt.”
