In 2001, Organizações Globo, under the leadership of its president, Roberto Marinho, purchased Diário de São Paulo from Diários Associados, resulting in a new masthead on the front page.

In January 2018, Diário de São Paulo published its last edition on print after 134 years of publication, resulting in an online edition. In October 2019, Kléber Moreira revive the newspaper as its web edition.
