Digi was founded as RCS (Romanian Cable Systems) in 1993.

RDS (Romanian Data Systems) was founded in April 1998.

Although this logo was discontinued years ago, it's still common to see around various older stores as well as documents.
2009–2024
Digi announced plans to get rid of their older RCS & RDS name in April 2024. These changes were applied on May 15 of that year.

In October 2009, RCS & RDS started using their subsidiary Digi Communications' name. However, their previous name was still used until 2024.
