1996–2005[]
DirecTV launched in Mexico in 1996 in partnership with MVS. In 2005, the company declared bankruptcy, shuttering its operations. In Mexico City, DirecTV ceased operations on May 16, 2005 in the Cuauhtémoc, Iztacalco and Venustiano Carranza boroughs, on May 24, 2005 in the Magdalena Contreras and Tlalpan boroughs, and on May 31, 2005 in the Azcapotzalco, Gustavo A. Madero and Miguel Hidalgo boroughs.
