In 2012, Jason Citron founded Hammer & Chisel, Inc., a game development studio, after he sold OpenFeint to GREE in 2011. Their first game was Fates Forever, which was supposed to be the first MOBA game for mobile phones. It did not succeed commercially.
In 2015, Hammer & Chisel launched Discord, an instant messaging and VoIP social platform.
2015–2016[]
By the end of 2015, their primary company website began redirecting to section about the company within the Discord website. By July 2016, the Hammer & Chisel branding was no longer visible on the Discord website, however the corporate name of the company remained the same.
