Disney+ is an over-the-top subscription video-on-demand service owned and operated by Disney Streaming, a division of Disney Entertainment (formerly operated under Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International before late 2020 and Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution from late 2020 to early 2023). It launched in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands on November 12, 2019, UK and Ireland in March 24, 2020 (replacing DisneyLife), Japan on June 11, 2020 (replacing Disney Deluxe), followed by more of Europe in March and September 2020, Latin America, Brazil and the Caribbean (except Cuba) on November 17, 2020, Singapore in February 23, 2021, Taiwan and South Korea on November 12, 2021, Central and Eastern Europe on June 14, 2022 and the Philippines on November 17, 2022 (replacing Fox+). It is also integrated through the Hotstar platform in India and Indonesia, with the service rolled out in Malaysia in June 2021.

It is focused on original films and television series based on new and existing properties including content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm's Star Wars, the then recently-acquired 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios), FX, and National Geographic. Star content (known as More Entertainment in Greece and Turkey) was also added to select international markets in February 23, 2021, except in Latin America, where the separate Star+ is available and in the United States, where Hulu is also available. As of December 2023, Hulu programming are accessible through Disney+ via its beta version and will be officially made in March 2024, only for Disney Bundle subscribers.

The logo for Disney+ used after launch was not too different, albeit with the arc and Disney+ wordmark containing a lighter shade of blue.
