On December 31, 2011, Disney Channel in Russia slightly changed its logo, replacing the word "channel" and introducing the word "kanal" (in Cyrillic alphabet) due to its entrance to FTA television in Russia, replacing national channel Semyorka. Disney Channel Russia never officially used the smartphone app logo branding from the US.
