Disney Fairies is a media franchise and toy line created by Andy Mooney (creator of Disney Princess) and owned by The Walt Disney Company, featuring Disney's Tinker Bell and a lineup of original female and male fairies who have appeared in associated books and films. The franchise has released dolls, apparel, beauty products, home decor, toys, and a variety of other products featuring some of the Disney Fairies.

Disney first revealed plans to come out with a book targeted towards young girls aged 6–10 on day 1 of the 2005 Bologna Children's Book Fair on April 13. The Disney Fairies trademark was then filed on May 27 of the same year,[1] making it the very first istnace of the name. The franchise was officially launched later on September 1,[2] with the children's novel Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg, which was written by Newbery Honor-winning author Gail Carson Levine and illustrated by David Christiana.
