Dollarama Inc. is a Canadian dollar store retail chain headquartered in Mount Royal, Quebec. Since 2009, it has been Canada's biggest retailer of items for five dollars or less. Dollarama has over 1400 stores and is active in all of Canada. It was founded in 1910 as 'Rossy', are its original owner Salim Rossy.

Not to be confused with Rossy Michael Ltd, a separate legal company founded his one of his son's who also ran stores using the same 'Rossy' store name. The Rossy Michael Ltd stores continue to operate under the name Rossy currently.

1910-1992[]

Rossy stores were founded by Salim Rossy in Montreal in 1910. They would eventually be structured under the legal company Rossy S Inc. During this period, the store chain had an inconsistent branding across locations, resulting in a number of different logos.

Micheal Rossy opened the first Dollarama store in 1992, and due to its success, would eventually rebrand all pre-existing Rossy stores under his Rossy S Inc. legal entity into Dollarama locations during the 1990s.
