This logo first appeared in 1963, with appearances in advertising becoming more frequent around 1967. This logo was used only on cartons until the late sixties, when it began appearing on some glass bottles. Its frequency and range of application are uncertain, and examples of it are hard to find.

This logo would first be used on the packaging of Sugar Free Dr Pepper upon its launch on April 8, 1971. It wouldn't be until October 7 when the redesign was announced to the public and carried over to the rest of the brand.

Dr Pepper products adopted new packaging in March 2006, coinciding with the introduction of Dr Pepper Berries & Cream, and in time for the renaming of Dr Pepper Ballpark on April 1. Despite it being replaced in 2015, this logo was still used in some way until mid-2019.
