Dreyer's was founded in 1953 as result of the dissolution of the original Edy's company in 1947.

In 2002, Nestlé acquired Dreyer's for $3.2 billion USD.

Trivia
- In the Old Dreyer's Logo the stick figure was not holding ice cream so it was not resembling to the company so they changed it.
- The Dreyer's logo is sometimes displayed in different shades of colors.
- Dreyer's is known as Edy's in the Eastern and Midwestern United States.
